More than year old court case against, Mr. Aruna roshan and Marcus Fernando who were arrested by Negombo police (36Km North to Colombo) on 2010 December, accusing of distribution of anti governmental leaflets in Negombo town was postponed to 23rd of April 2012 after examine on 12th March 2012, since the police did not appear in the court as accuser.
Struggle against using of Negombo lagoon for sea plane landings were led by several community leaders including Mr.Aruna and Mr. Marcus. It was the first strong struggle against the present government after ending of war. Distributed leaflet was an awareness document on the situation of sea plane issue.
Government is promoting tourism as main income source of the country using any resource that they decide to use for the industry disregarding effect to the community or to the environment.
